HR - Adding User to Buildertrend
This guide walks you through the process of adding a new internal user to the Buildertrend platform.
Process Overview
Adding new users to Buildertrend requires administrative access. This procedure covers creating a new internal user and assigning the appropriate OVI GC role.
Required Information
- New user's first name
- New user's last name
- New user's email address
- New user's phone number
- Appropriate OVI GC role for user
Step-by-Step Guide

Login to Buildertrend
Navigate to the Buildertrend login page and sign in using your administrative credentials.

Access Internal Users Section
From the settings menu, click "Internal Users" to view the user management area.

Create New User
Click the "New Internal User" button to begin adding a new user.

Enter User Information
Fill in the new user's personal information including first name, last name, email address, and phone number.

Select Role
Click the "Role" dropdown field and select the appropriate OVI GC role for the new user.

Choose Appropriate OVI-GC Role
Select the appropriate role from the dropdown list. For example, "OVI-GC Field Crew".
noteThe role selection determines what permissions and access levels the user will have in the system.

Complete User Creation
After entering all required information and selecting the appropriate role, click the "Create" button to finalize the new user setup.

Completion Checklist
- Logged into Buildertrend with administrative access
- Navigated to Internal Users section
- Created new internal user
- Entered user's personal information

- Clicked Create button to finalize
The new user will receive an email invitation to complete their Buildertrend account setup. Once they accept the invitation and set up their account, they will have access according to their assigned role.
